Eminem Recovery Recovery

Recovery is the upcoming seventh studio album by American rapper Eminem. Recovery was confirmed during a press release by Eminem’s label on March 5, 2009 and was originally titled Relapse 2. It was slated to be the second Eminem album released in 2009, after Relapse, but was pushed back to 2010. The album has since been renamed Recovery and the confirmed release date is June 21 in United Kingdom, while in the rest of Europe is June 18 and in the United States is June 22.

This is his first album of original material since Encore (2004), following a five-year hiatus from recording due to his addiction to sleeping pills and issues with writer’s block. Recording sessions for the album took place during 2007 to 2009 at several recording studios, and production was handled primarily by Dr. Dre, Mark Batson, and Eminem. Conceptually, Relapse concerns the ending of his drug rehabilitation, rapping after a fictional relapse, and the return of his Slim Shady alter-ego.

The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 608,000 copies in its first week. One of the most anticipated album releases of 2009, it ultimately sold over 1.9 million copies in the United States and spawned three singles that attained chart success. Upon its release, Relapse received generally mixed reviews from most music critics, who were mostly divided in their responses towards Eminem’s lyrics and themes. It earned him Grammy Awards for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for the promotional single “Crack a Bottle” at the 52nd Grammy Awards.

Encore is the fifth studio album by American rapper Eminem. It was set for release on November 16, 2004, but was moved up to November 12, after the album was leaked to the Internet. Encore sold 991,000 copies in its first week and claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard Top 200. The album sold 1,835,000 copies in its first two weeks of release in the United States in November, 2004. Worldwide sales of the album stand at 11 million copies, with 5.1 million being sold in the United States alone.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 317 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. The Eminem Show was Eminem’s first album to be mainly self-produced, and was the first Eminem album to be released under Shady Records.

The Marshall Mathers LP is the third studio album by American rapper, Eminem. Released May 23, 2000, the album sold more than 1.79 million copies in its first week just in the US, earning a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest selling solo album ever. In 2001, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and was nominated for Album of the Year. It has gone on to be certified 9x platinum by the RIAA in the United States, and by 2005 had sold over 19 million units worldwide.

Often cited as Eminem’s magnum opus, The Marshall Mathers LP has been ranked as one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all-time by such magazines as Rolling Stone, Time, and XXL. Rolling Stone placed the album at #7 on its list of the best albums of the 2000s. The album was ranked #302 by Rolling Stone on their list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The Slim Shady LP is the second studio album, and major label debut, by American rapper Eminem, released on February 23, 1999. The album was released under Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. Today, it is widely recognized as a hip hop classic.

The album was met with critical and commercial success. It debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart behind TLC’s FanMail with 283,000 copies sold in its opening week. The album went on to be certified 4x Platinum by the RIAA. To date, it has moved over 6 million units worldwide. “Just Don’t Give a Fuck” was the first and only underground single from the album. The first official single was “My Name Is”.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 273 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Devil’s Night is the debut album by Detroit hip hop group D12, released on June 19, 2001 and executive produced by Eminem. The album’s title comes from the Devil’s Night tradition, recognized in and around Detroit. The album produced two singles: “Purple Pills” and “Fight Music”. The album featured a hidden track by Eminem called “Girls”, which is a diss track aimed at Limp Bizkit, DJ Lethal, and Everlast. Devil’s Night was also the first album to be released on Eminem’s Shady Records label, although the label has been active since 1999.

A special edition was also released which included a second CD, named ‘Stan’s Mixtape’, which included a selection of seven songs not included on the main album.
